Disaster Management Center (DMC).
The Department of Meteorology
says there will be showers at times in the sea areas off the coast
extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Galle.
It said that winds will be Southwesterly direction and speed will be 40-50 km/hr.
The
speed may increase up to 70 kmph at times in the sea areas off the
coast extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Colombo and Galle as well as
the sea areas off the coast extending from Jaffna to Trincomalee.
The
sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Colombo
and Galle as well as the sea areas off the coast extending from Jaffna
to Trincomalee will be rough, the department said.
“Therefore Naval and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant in this regard.”
