A
foreign woman who tried to smuggle out a consignment of gems belonging
to 39 varieties valued at nearly Rs. 4 million was arrested by Airport
Customs at the Bandaranaike International Airport, customs media
spokesman Leslie Gamini said.
He said the contraband weighed 1,627 grammes.
