Emirates increase its flights to Colombo

Following a steep rise in demands for seats to Colombo, Emirates Airlines is increasing seat capacity to Colombo from June 30th with the addition of three more flights per week.

 The Airlines announced that the  addition of three more services, which will operate between Dubai and Colombo on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays, will increase the number of flights between the two cities to four each day on those days, and take the total number of weekly Emirates flights serving Colombo to 31.

Emirate is one of the airlines serving Colombo from the Middle East.  In addition to Emirates, the Saudi Arabian Airlines, Qatar Airways, Oman Airlines and Kuwait Airways are also operating flights to Colombo.  From the United Arab Emirates in addition to Emirates, the airlines Itihad, Arabian Air and Fly Dubai are operating flights to Colombo.

The Emirates Airlines’ Area Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives said the additional capacity added to its services will support the Sri Lankan government’s efforts to increase tourist arrivals towards the declared target of 2.5 million by 2016.
