be deployed to commence an intercity bus service shortly.

buses and they have earned a record income. People prefer to travel
comfortably in luxury buses though the fares are higher when compared to

A new super luxury train was deployed between Kandy and Colombo Fort
recently and it has become very popular among commuters. “Today,
commuters enjoy the super luxury train journey and we expect to expand
the service further. We are moving ahead to create a revolution in the
transport sector,” he said.
“Not only constructing highways and carpeted road, but also new power
sets, super luxury trains and super luxury buses will be imported and
deployed to the fleet, “he added. The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB)
which was made bankrupt during the UNP regime is now recovering fast.
Former SLTB Chairman Anil Moonesinghe took measures to revive the SLTB
