Cases by and against Rajpal withdrawn

Two cases, one filed by Attorney-at-Law, Rajpal Abeynayake, against Attorney-at-Law, Asoka Samararatne, and another one filed by the Colpetty Police, against Attotney-at-Law Rajpal Abeynayake, were withdrawn after the parties concerned mutually agreed to the same, when the cases were called before the Fort Magistrate and District Judge, Thilina Gamage.

Colpetty Police, acting on a complaint made by Attorney-at-Law, Mohamed Farman Cassim, had charged Rajpal Abeynayake for gate-crashing a Bar Association of Sri Lanka dinner, 'Voet Light,' held at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, on 5 December 2011, and disturbing the proceedings with his unruly behaviour.

In the other case, Rajpal Abeynayake, had charged Attorney-at-Law, Asoka Samararatne, for assault. When the two cases were taken up for trial, counsels for both parties requested the Court to compound the two cases as they wished to withdraw their charges. The Magistrate compounded the two cases and directed both parties to sign the Court record book, accordingly.
